Vittarth is the Finance Club of DoMS IIT Roorkee. The Club is known for enabling students to discover their true potential through knowledge sharing on finance and organizing various events which include guest lectures, presentations, simulations games, etc.

Risk assessment and management is one of the core considerations in the field of finance, be it lending or investment decision. The topic has acquired greater relevance in the current financially turbulent times when every institution has to carefully gauge the various factors contributing to risk. For management students and future leaders, it is vital to have a sound understanding of the subject. Fortunately students at DoMS, IIT Roorkee got such an opportunity to learn about the same. The event was Manthan, the finance summit conducted at DoMS, IIT Roorkee, on the topic of “Rethinking Risk in Financial Institutions: Making the CFO-CRO Partnership work” which was scheduled on 29th Sep 2013.

Acting like an investment banker the contestant has to convince the HNI investors (audience) to invest more in his firm. He can use whatever way he wants along with a PowerPoint presentation to be presented in front of investors (audience) and Juries.
IPOs of each start-up will be launched. Investors will be facilitated to buy shares. Another trading session among investors will also be done.
The company with the highest market capitalization will be termed as the winner. And Investors with the best portfolio will be the best investors.
Banking and Finance Workshop
A two-day workshop on Banking and Finance was organized on 25th and 26th August 2012. The Workshop was attended by B.Tech third, final year students and Management students to gain basic knowledge in Banking and Finance domain. Dignitaries from various private as well as public sector banks like PNB, SBI, ICICI, IDBI, Axis & financial institutions Religare & IIFL. were invited to enlighten the students. It is a virtual stock market simulation that deals with real-time stock exchanges and trading on a virtual platform with participation from interested people in the batch. The interested students act as investors and use a dynamic interface to do the trading.
A business simulation game organized during the THOMSO-Annual Cultural Fest of IIT Roorkee. The event consists of virtual money invested in a business and simulation of the business environment. The team making the maximum profit at the end of the simulation is the winner.
